Multimedia and Active Document

The picture shown hereunder is a screenshot of an Active Document (AD) and it shows figure skating. The reader of the ADPlayer document is welcome to verify with the active MM-element the understanding of the given explanations (expositive elements) in relation to the skating jumps. It is important to select one exact moment of the video play.

The activity of the reader consists in a choice of a portion on the “video play”.

Video in authoring system

The reader of the document receives, after the validation of the selected portion, a message, foreseen by the writer, who created the document, by using the ADWorks software. Messages such as the following ones can appear:

The choice is correct
Wrong choice, you selected the Triple Lutz. The difference from the Triple Axle is…
The choice is…
(The message can be a text and/or sound and/or a picture, etc.)

The action of the reader and the incident message distinguishes the Active Document (AD).
