Example 16, Static Picture, Multiple Choice and RTF-Resource


This description will add  Static Pictures and  RTF-Resources to
   -  Doc Example.ADsrc  (source,  "W" in the icon).
   -  Doc Example.ADcomp  (compiled, "P" in the icon)
established before. Both files can be found on the CD in the folder
     Samples\Try This\Example Folder
The description presumes all resources (pictures, sounds available) found in
     Samples\Try This\Example Folder\Example Resources
 
Static Pictures are similar to Static Text. They are used “to say what’s to do”.
RTF-Resources are texts. RTF means Rich Text Format (bold, italics, colors etc).
FIRST PART
To create this question we need to do the following steps:
- Important Note: Use File/General Parameters/Document Dimensions to make the document "longer" (to increase its height). The startup- height became here to short for the Doc Example.ADsrc. See Illustration.
- Choose Multiple Choice... from the menu Create Element of ADWorks. This opens the Multiple Choice Dialog with the Example Setting 1.
- Choose the Example Setting Radio Button Type, RTF Editor, Active. Leave with OK. See Result.
- Choose the Definition for the Static Text for the text and arrange the sizes. See Result.
- Use Static Pictures from Create Elments of ADWorks. See Result.
Note: The Static Picture is already  in front. There is no need to use Edit/ Visibility of Elements/ Bring to Front.
- Use the Definition of the Static Pictures to define the resource. This description uses the picture Pythagoras, found at Samples\Try This\Example Folder\Example Resources\Divers. See Result.
- Use the Evaluation Table of the Active List to define the first propositions (RTF text). See Illustration 1, Illustration 2, see Result.
- Repeat this step for the proposals 2 to 5
   2: It’s the Emblem the Bermudan Triangle Society
   3: It’s a Japanese traffic sign
   4: It’s the geometrical proof of the Pythagorean Theorem
   5: It’s the icon of the software for RFF

- Use the Definition of the Choose Box to define his list. See Illustration.
- Optional step: Do the "Same Color Operation" for the Choose Box.
- Use the Evaluation of the Choose Box to define this. See Illustration.
- Use the Evaluation of the Static Text to define the portions of Referenced Text. See Illustration.
 

We are ready for a temporary jump to ADPlayer to test the group. See Illustration.
SECOND PART
To create this question we need to do the following steps:
- Choose Static Text from the menu Create Element of ADWorks and use its Definition Dialog to obtain this.
- Choose Static Picture from the menu Create Element of ADWorks and use its Definition Dialog to obtain this, using the file
Map Europe in the folder Samples\Try This\Example Folder\Example Resources\BridgesS
- Choose Static Picture from the menu Create Element of ADWorks and use its Definition Dialog to
   1) define the list (list tab)
   2) linke a resource (picture of bridge) to each
       item of the list (list tab). See Illustration.
   3) choose white color on tab Properties.
   4) choose Font Size 8 on tab Properties.
   5) check Adjust height on tab Properties.
   6) do settings on tab Open List Properties
   leave with OK. See Result.
- Do these settings on the first tab of the Evaluation Dialog.
Note:
1) The Drop Down +  will is a drop down that makes appear the resources (the bridges).
2) Read this explanation about Numbering Options.

- Select the prepared Choose Box and repeat the command Duplicate with Permanent Link from the menu Create Element until we have a total of 10 Choose Boxes.
- Move the Choose Boxes to the good places on the map and define the Evaluation table for each Choose Box. See an example.
- Choose Validater from the menu Create Element of ADWorks.
- Select the 10 Choose Boxes and the Validater  and click the appearing Linkbutton on the Validater.
- Define the Evaluation Dialog of the Static Text for the Referenced Portions of text. See Illustration.
